Jordan: Petra

The highlight of our trip was Petra, the capital of the old Nabataean kingdom, dating back to 300 BC. Unfortunately it was largely destroyed by earthquakes around 300 and 500 AC. Its remains are astonishing accounts of life & trade in the desert.
